About Abilities Unleashed
Abilities Unleashed is a radical inclusivity directory for the UK. We find and record the practical details that decide whether a place is genuinely usable: step-free entrances, accessible toilets, hearing loops, quiet hours, braille menus, staff training, and whether assistance animals are welcome. Each listing is written in plain language and organised by who it suits, so you can filter for your own needs instead of reading between the lines.
The directory exists for disabled people first. It is also here for carers, parents, friends, and anybody planning a meet-up with someone who needs to know what to expect. We treat accessibility as a starting point rather than a special request, and we publish the good and the limited honestly so nobody travels across a city on a false promise.
Everything on this site is community-verified. Visitors suggest places, share their own experiences, and flag when something has changed. Alongside the directory we offer an advocacy suite of letter templates, so a request or a complaint never has to start from a blank page. We are built and maintained by a small, independent team led by people with lived experience of disability, and we answer to the community we serve rather than to advertisers.
What we do
We map accessible, barrier-free places across the UK and publish them in one searchable directory, so a day out never depends on guesswork.
Who it is for
Disabled people, carers, families, and anyone who needs to know a space will work for them before they arrive.
Who builds it
A small independent team led by people with lived experience of disability, working alongside community contributors who check and suggest listings.
